Google Open Spot alerts Android users to liberated parking spaces

Oh, certain — this has certainly been attempted before, though since that things similar to this need the vicious mass of supporters to be in effect, we’re quite jazzed about Google’s own beginning. Dubbed ‘Open Spot,’ this bloody brilliant Android (2.0 and up) application enables motorists to search for unclaimed spaces which have been reported by other Open Spot users, and once they conduct elsewhere, it allows them to mark their mark as open as well as accessible. Once the spot is marked, the tone gradually fades from red to yellow the longer it remains unclaimed. We’ve since it the discerning test here on our finish, and while it seems snappy sufficient (and yes, you really received a Karma Point for each space we dropped), the viewable omission is the ability to supplement notes to each marked place. There really should be the way to imply whether a spot is metered, covered by a little wacky city assent law or submerged in a feet of water — here’s anticipating the next refurbish will capacitate comments. Hit which source link (or only open up a App Market) to grab it for giveaway, and jump on past a mangle to see how your associate city dwellers feel about this miraculous invention.
