Filaments produced by silkworms – very durable material. Silk thread used in surgery, in light industry and even in the magical rites, but on the use of threads in the hi-tech technologies almost never reported.

However, recently published an interesting news from the National Taiwan University – Tsing Hua about new developments, is to use silk membranes to create a flexible display.

And that means that maybe we will see electronic reader, media players and other devices whose screens will be through the use of silk fibers more durable and malleable.

It is reported that the technology will be inexpensive, and already being negotiated to implement it in industrial production. However, has yet to officially participate in this project one of the major manufacturers are not confirmed.
