Competition is great, let’s officially welcome LG to a burgeoning color electronic paper marketplace. The association is diving right in with not a single but two color antecedent displays which it showed off at FPD International in Japan. Both have been 9.7-inches diagonal, the initial being fully color with an 800 x 600 resolution — that just happens to exactly compare the specs of E Ink’s ultimate. The second, however, is usually partly tone, a tip 3 building being monochrome with the 1200 x 1200 resolution, protracted by a 200 x 600 color strip at a bottom. It’s an engaging offering, the blueprint not unlike a Nook though all upon a single display. No word on cost or availability, but you can see them doing their thing, along with E Ink’s ultimate, in a video next.
