Honda shows off unpractical, solar-powered hire to refill your unpractical, hydrogen-powered automobile (video)

Hydrogen-powered cars, like Honda’s FCX Clarity, face a lot of hurdles, not a slightest of that being the fuel source requiring some-more energy to furnish than it in turn gives out as energy. Honda is display one approach to lessen that with the conceptual home-based recharging station. It relies upon the six-kilowatt solar array to energy an electrolyzer, splitting water molecules into hydrogen atoms. Eight hours of sunlight generates a half-kilogram of hydrogen, enough for a FCX to cover about 30 miles — your average invert. However, there have been some viewable concerns, not a least of which being that large solar form (shown upon the right in a picture on top of, that is twice a distance of car it’s powering. Then there’s the price, and whilst Honda isn’t observant how most this might set you back if it ever did come to production, we’re guessing it’d make a JFE Engineering’s $60k quick charger look like something of the discount.
