Bloomberg: EDGE operative to let BlackBerry PlayBook run Android apps, though Dalviks not a approach

We’d listened honeyed, sweet rumors that EDGE would include the Java virtual machine in a BlackBerry PlayBook as well as even bring Android apps on board — and lo and behold, Bloomberg’s corroborating those claims with no fewer than three anonymous sources. Where a brand new gossip diverges is that a Dalvik virtual machine used in Google’s OS reportedly won’t be part of a regulation; EDGE deliberate it, these sources say, though decided it didn’t want to get concerned in a Oracle / Google legal fracas. Apparently, the company’s operative on this tip project in-house as well as targeting a possible recover in the second half of the year. We have to say, a ready accessibility of roughly 200,000 Android programs could be quite a shot in the arm if WebWorks and AIR don’t produce torpedo apps right away.
