MIT Personal Robotics Group has been busy hacking Microsofts Kinect complement and mixing it with an iRobot to emanate some illusory formula.

MIT have created the low price localisation as well as mapping hardware complement that allows them to control a iRobot with good effect. Check out a complement after a burst in the demo video.

many of the calculations for the system are finished upon a separate computer, but MIT contend there is no reason why the complement couldn’t be integrated into a small iRobot device. So if you whim determining your hoover with arm gestures maybe you could setup your very own.
