Confirmed: Apple TV can play 1080p calm from iTunes, though still usually outputs 720p

The header says it all folks. We just ran a little tests upon the AppleTV’s playback boundary by streaming 1080p film trailers in iTunes and managed to verify murmurs saying a device can accept 1080p calm. Unfortunately, outlay is the different story, given it downscales the picture back to 720p on your display. Yes it’s a little frustrating — generally given it’s prototype was up to a plea — but it should at slightest comfort those with the large library of 1080p videos who were disturbed about reconverting for their new black box. Considering the hardware gems detected in a AppleTV teardown however, we’re still land out for the jailbreak community to let us play our 1080p files, and arrangement them too. Oh, as well as if they could get to work upon Super-Hi Vision await during a little point, good, that’d be just fine.
