Roku XD as well as Netgear Roku XD Player strike a FCC

Well, well, what’s this? Looks like Roku has some bigger skeleton for attack behind at a $99 Apple TV than only price cuts of the own: the Roku XD as well as the Netgear Roku XD Player just strike a FCC. That’s right, Netgear — Roku’s expanding its platform to third parties. We don’t know if these two devices are standalones or written to work together, but we’re guessing they’re standalones; a Netgear section might mix in some of the Digital Entertainer line’s support for local playback as well as services similar to PlayOn, YouTube, as well as CinemaNow. Of course, the large question is going to be price, given if these are almost some-more than the Apple TV’s $99 they’re going to have to suggest some vital features, though you should be finding out what’s up shortly sufficient: a confidentiality on these docs lifts October 23.
