RoboCup Soccer 2010 finals uncover considerable realism by impersonation injuries (video)

The World Cup may still be ongoing (despite what a US, England, and a handful of others might think), but the RoboCup 2010 in Singapore has only sealed shop with an edge-of-your-seat arrangement of unconstrained action. The final diversion came down to dual German teams, a Darmstadt Dribblers as well as the FUmanoids. As seen at numerous points, both android teams have even schooled a very old art of diving, toeing the uncanny valley the little to tighten for joy. Video after a mangle — you won’t to spoil a ending, so let’s only say Germany won by the large domain.

If extreme foe isn’t your crater of tea, we’ve also got footage of DARwin-LC, the low price (hence a name) humanoid from our friends at Virginia Tech’s RoMeLa. These darling small guys price about $2,500 apiece and will be going out to 11 of VT’s partner universities.

[Thanks, Stefan]
